It is FINALLY raining after weeks of promises from the weather forecasters. So naturally, that means I should pull on polka-dot rubber boots, tuck in the legs of my velvet lounging pants, throw on a flannel lined raincoat, snug up the hood and go outside for some old fashioned fun strewing grass seed and pulling mustard garlic weeds. Brilliant because Mother Nature is doing the watering which I loathe, AND making the ground soft enough to yank weed roots clean out of the ground with no tools or sweat.

Velvet may not be the best choice for yard work. But it IS luscious, regardless what you do in it.
