Is the internet sleeping?

Perhaps the 'blizzard' has caused it to hibernate. All I know is, it ain't workin' right. Of course, who am I to point fingers? After a visit to the club (I was late for the red shoed surrogate Personal Tormentor again) I braved Target, along with several hundred other intrepid souls, then made cookies, finished a book, took a nap, embellished a knitted belt and watched some British comedy. Not exactly a blazing speed day.

It was heartwarming to see that Minnesotans have not lost the ability to keep on going when the weather is foul. I was beginning to worry that we were getting collectively 'soft'. It would have been fun to go outside and play in the snow a bit. My playmate was working at the kitchen table all day though. So I rummaged around for boxes with which to wrap some gifts and discovered a couple of last year's 'too-well hidden gifts' to slap paper & labels on for this year. SCORE!

Today's activities include: baking lefse, exchanging gifts with my oldest friend and visiting some newer (but older) friends in the Minneapolis area. All-in-all, a very Christmassy weekend. Though the Big Box of Christmas remains tucked away, unopened, it still feels like Christmas to me. Yesterday I discovered that the Charlie Brown potted tree I bought to serve the purpose is actually meant to be an outdoor ornament. Oops. Perhaps we need to dig out the stockings to create the inner ambience. Well, I don't know. Each year it's a new chapter in re-creating the season to fit our family. We haven't reached what we're looking for yet. When we begin to repeat activities and decor, then, we'll have a new tradition.
For now, we're still searching...
